17th Meeting of the Central and Eastern Europe Data Protection Authorities

On 29-30 April 2015, in Durrës, a representative of the Inspector General for the Protection of Personal Data took part in the 17th Meeting of the Central and Eastern Europe Data Protection Authorities (CEEDPA). The event was hosted by the Information and Data Protection Ombudsman. Among the participants of the meeting were representatives of 16 data protection authorities from the following countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Georgia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Morocco, Moldova, Poland, Czech Republic, Serbia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Hungary, Italy and representatives of the European Union and the Council of Europe.

During both days of the CEEDPA meeting, there was an exchange of experiences on specific cases in the field of data protection and privacy. The two-day event was divided into four sessions and an open session, during which the following topics were discussed: European data protection reform, experiences of data protection authorities, new technologies and case studies, and the impact of new technologies on privacy protection.

During the meeting, a Declaration on a new member of the Group of the Central and Eastern Europe Data Protection Authorities was adopted, by which the National Agency for the Protection of Personal Data of Kosovo was accepted as a member of the Group.

It was also decided that the 18th CEEDPA meeting will take place in 2016 in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
