Interplay between the ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR
The Opinion aims at providing an answer to the question whether the fact that data processing triggers the material scope of both the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive, is limiting the competences, tasks, and powers of data protection authorities under the GDPR.

The EDPB has also published the Statement 3/2019, which calls on the EU legislators to intensify efforts towards the adoption of the ePrivacy Regulation which is necessary to complete the EU’s framework for data protection and confidentiality of communications.
